RECRUITING A MEDICAL DIRECTOR
The International Health & Development Network (IHDN), a US -Based Christian Medical Mission Organization is recruiting a MEDICAL DIRECTOR to lead the new IHDN Mission Hospital at Weta, V/R, Ghana .

The Position:

The Medical Director will:
•  Be the CEO, with full responsibility and accountability for clinical, academic, administrative and financial affairs of the hospital;

•  Report directly to the President of IHDN, Ghana & the IHDN Ghana Board;

•  Lead in the recruitment and development of an outstanding Medical & Surgical staff, all aimed at enhancing IHDN Mission Hospital 's excellence in clinical medicine;

•  Provide medical and surgical care to patients at the IHDN Mission Hospital and in satellite clinics in surrounding villages;

•  Develop and implement a Community Health Education program on common diseases and how to prevent them;

•  Mobilize the people of Weta, Agbozume/Klikor and surrounding villages to undertake community development projects;

•  Recruit and train volunteers in Effective Christian Leadership.

The Medical Director will have:
•  M.B. Ch. B. or Equivalent. An MPH or FWACP or FWACS or other postgraduate training is an advantage;

•  Completed a rotating internship;

•  Ghana Medical License in good standing;

•  Computer Science skills, strong skills in conceptualization, shared leadership, communication;

•  A definite commitment to Christ and a calling to serve as a medical missionary;

•  An understanding and appreciation of Christian Health Care delivery in Ghana ;

•  A willingness to learn, conduct research and further develop his/her professional career

Terms of Offer:

IHDN offers a very competitive salary, accommodation, retirement benefits package and a collegial Christ-Centered working environment. The contract is for an initial period of 3 years, subject to a one-year probation period and annual assessment of performance. There are several opportunities to attend both local and overseas conferences and present papers on behalf of IHDN. There also opportunities for further professional development.

About IHDN Mission Hospital
IHDN is currently building a 230-bed Mission Hospital and Nursing Training College at Weta in the Volta Region of Ghana. The first phase, due to be completed in April 2008, is the 20,000 square foot outpatient building, with 6 examination rooms, Laboratory, Pharmacy, X-ray, Ultrasound & EKG. There is an outpatient operation room, emergency and treatment center. When completed, this building will be a major technology resource with Computer science laboratory & Computer Network, Internet Connectivity, conference rooms, research and administrative offices & FM Radio Station.
